Hi, we are Katie & Austin.

We are Katie and Austin Chavers, a married artist duo living in Vancouver, Washington in the Pacific Northwest. Austin loves drawing, metal music, nature, creepy things that creep out Katie, and the power of self expression. Katie loves painting portraits of cats and dogs, standing in the shade on the beach so she doesn't get sunburned, eating cake for breakfast, barbies, and feminine rage.

And we both really love photography!

We work out of our home studio, where our rescue cats, Slippy and Squeaker, completely ignore our pleas to not jump up on the counters. But our  little studio is also a place where love is love, families can be blood or chosen, your body=your choice, and where a safe and inclusive existence is a necessity. After more than 5 years of making art next to each other, we decided to finally start making art together. Thus, Counter Cat Studios was born!

Our goal is to avoid the stiff poses and awkward smiles, and to capture the candid moments that show the true emotion and connection between you and your loved ones. We're super excited to be on this journey together and we can't wait to be your photographers!
